Standing at Piazzale Michelangelo on a crisp December dawn, she watched her favorite city come to life. At first, the only sounds were the pigeons flapping in the square, followed by the sound of a lone Vespa delivering bread, as the driver bade her a polite good morning. She could feel nothing but joy and excitement. So many wonderful things had happened since the last time she was here. This was a city that seemed to always signify the closing of a chapter and the start of a new one.
